'Misc' by Landstylist: Landscape Design Concepts, Curated Located in the heart of Manhattan, 'Misc' exemplifies Landstylist's penchant for the merging of nature with modernity. This is designed to convert a small urban area into a green oasis that fits in with the surrounding architecture, while providing owners with an area of respite. Landstylist used a wide range of materials of the highest quality, serving sustainable hardscaping with permeable pavers and landscape design with native plants chosen for local climate. The lush, landscaped area contains a myriad of textures, from ornamental grasses that create a soft touch, to flowering perennials that provide bursts of colour throughout the seasons. A custom seating area built from reclaimed wood encourages relaxation, while exterior lighting creates drama, highlighting the beautiful flora after darkness falls. One of the biggest challenges the team faced was the lack of space and designing a solution that assisted in space planning, the uniqueness of the design was its use of the confined space. Landstylist used vertical gardens and layered planting to provide depth and dimensionality. After considerable effort, the team created a landscape that not only enhances the curb appeal but also enhances a relaxing retreat from urban culture. The client was extremely happy, noting that the policy reflects their lifestyle and love of nature and that 'Misc' is now their special getaway in the city.
