About This Project

Water Mill Residence Landstylist: landscape design ideas, curated, proudly presents the completed landscape at the Water Mill Residence, located in the tranquil Hamptons. This expansive estate required consideration of amending and blending the natural beauty of the site with the sheer beauty of the home. The team worked thoroughly to create a soothing outdoor retreat, full of native plant species chosen for their survivability and seasonal interest. The meandering bluestone pathmade with locally sourced productwill guide patrons throughout lush perennial beds, while custom cedar planters grace the grounds with visually beautiful color. There are many challenges in the (unevenness and poor drainage of the site); however, we produced a plan that accommodated grading and installed an irrigation system. Altering unnatural grade has improved the aesthetics of the landscape, as well as sustainability and care of the landscape. Of note, a koi pond surrounded by ornamental grasses and flowering shrubs is a focal point of the design that enhances and creates a site of solace and retreat. Along with the koi pond, we created a rustic wooden pergola with climbing vines. The pergola enhances the beauty of the site while offering a shaded area to lounge. The end result is a stunning landscape of elegance and tranquility consistent with the client's goals. Both the Water Mill residence and Landstylist reflect the high-quality, creativity associated with landscape design. Most importantly, the client was thrilled with their new oasis that provides ample space for recreation and enjoyment of nature. Serving the areas of Manhattan, Brooklyn, Greenwich, and the Hamptons, Landstylist continues to enhance and redefine landscape design with individual designs that elevate outdoor spaces.
