Colonial Farmhouse Garden, Royersford Colonial Farmouse Garden, Royersford - A perennial homage to both elegance and functional beauty completed by Donald Pell - Gardens This combines traditional style with sustainable modernism, harmonizing with the rustic character of the area while highlighting what makes the historical farmhouse appealing in nature. Central to this garden is a low-maintenance native planting design that nourishes biodiversity. Rich perennial borders radiate an array of seasonal color, complemented by pathways of antique stone, prepared from local materials to provide both a sense of place and permanence. The water feature fills the air with tranquility, while a trellis encased in climbing roses mirrors the facets of an alluring focal point, elevating the feeling of romance. Some of the challenges this faced were the rocky terrain and existing full grown trees. We worked with the lay of the land, providing tiered planting beds that not only add visual interest but solve drainage issues. These large boulders are strategically placed throughout the property to add some rustic effect as well as provide stabilization for the land and surrounding areas; most of the boulders were all repurposed nearby from the site itself. The end result is a beautiful garden that encourages you to go inside and marvel. The clients love that the space captures their appreciation of nature and fits the overall tone of their farmhouse. This is a perfect example of the quality craftsmanship by Donald Pell Gardens and our dedication to executing a property that leaves the homeowner smiling in their space.
