About This Project

` Blanner Residence ` DG2 Design Landscape Architecture DG2 Design Landscape Architecture | Blanner Residence | St. Louis, MO The first award winner featured in St. Louis Homes & Lifestyles magazine this year is the Blanner residence, a true representation of our landscape architectural efforts across the St. Louis metropolitan region. This full landscaping is located in the heart of Affton, and was designed to convert a standard house lot into an oasis of beauty and usability. The included a meticulous design that seamlessly melded native plantings with high-end hardscape features. We engaged long-lasting, sustainable resources wherever possible, including local stone for walkways, which provided aesthetic and lasting value. The incorporation of a beautiful water element that provided tranquility and invite local wildlife. We also faced problems, as this was quite a hilly section of land, so significant grading solutions had to be implemented to make the site more level and balanced. We designed the garden in levels and added retaining walls made with natural stone to hold the soil and add texture and aesthetics. This ensured that drainage was not an issue, while also providing the maximum possible useable area for outdoors. The end product is a beautiful landscape blending outdoor living with nature, with a fire pit area, flower beds, and a vegetable garden. The clients were over the moon with the change, and were thrilled they now had a space they could use for entertaining friends and family or just relaxing on a sunny day! This was built with a focus on integrity, craftsmanship and DG2 attitude to creating beautiful landscapes, tailored to bring home any home.
