Located in Bloomfield Township, MI, this went through a thoughtful design and construction process that stayed true to the client's vision of a forested, tranquil retreat. We began the process by evaluating the existing landscape and assessing features like mature trees and natural contours and topography. Once we tackled the challenges of the uneven terrain in some areas and the dense underbrush, we used our grading expertise to build a balanced and welcoming area. As for the design, it features an arrangement of winding paths constructed of natural stone, laid in different ways that facilitate both design and function. Not only do the paths provide easy navigation, but they relate nicely to the existing landscape, fauna, and flora. The also involves the plantings of selected native plants that prosper in our local climate while attracting pollinators and enhancing biodiversity. In addition to the pathway design, we developed custom seating areas surrounding the established trees, providing shaded locations for quiet respite and relaxation. They are built of salvaged wood for a rustic aesthetic that is also ethically sourced. The finished design is not only beautiful but also an immersive backyard oasis for our clients. The design allows a harmonious relishing of nature and promotes activity and relaxation outdoors. Our design creates a space that is ideal for gathering with family and friends.
