About This Project

The Play House project transformed a dilapidated barn and garage adjacent to a beautifully renovated three-story Italianate villa overlooking Narragansett Bay into a stunning poolside retreat. The homeowners sought to create a space that would evoke the feeling of a vacation home, allowing them to unwind and entertain effortlessly by the pool during the summer months. To fulfill these aspirations, a fully functional pool house and cabana were designed, ensuring that the space would be both aesthetically pleasing and practical. The design choices made for the Play House integrate seamlessly with the existing villa and landscape, emphasizing harmony and elegance. The structure was carefully crafted to mirror the traditional architectural features of the Italianate style, incorporating elements such as arched windows and decorative cornices. High-quality materials were selected to ensure durability and visual appeal, with a focus on natural finishes that would endure the coastal climate while blending organically with the surroundings. Attention to detail was paramount throughout the project, from the selection of materials to the craftsmanship displayed in the construction.
