The landscape is beautifully designed and provides a professional and functional space, carefully balancing a thriving ecosystem with an effective setting. A deep site analysis initiates the of observing the site and its faults and identifications of the many traits the site possessed. The gently sloping landscape and mature trees on the property presented specific challenges such as soil erosion and a lack of sunlight in some areas. Working with a highly specialized drainage system and picking out local plants that can thrive without much sun, our experts solved these problems to keep the yard bright year-round. The focus of the Maplewood Outdoor Space, is multi-level, high-quality bluestone pavers that provides a beautiful and functional durable carpet for entertaining. An outdoor kitchen complete with a stone grill and granite countertops integrates this area, encouraging family and friends to dine alfresco under the stars. A large variety of native shrubs and perennials were planted to buffer the patio and help screen the space as well as attract some pollinators and birds. It also includes a calming water featurethe modern pondproviding a natural habitat for fish and aquatic plants, but it also calms down the environment. After negotiating this rather tricky water feature concept we managed to pull it off by shaping around it to create a embankment with nicely rounded boulders that fit right into the scene. The ambiance of the outdoor layout was encapsulated in a fire pit area, surrounded by soft seating that invites a friend to come enjoy a glass of wine on a cool evening, illuminated by soft landscape lighting that encourages guests to mingle while still allowing natural beauty to prevail. The completed Maplewood Outdoor Space is a stunningly functional yet sophisticated space that lived up to what we had envisioned for our clients, creating a backyard oasis in their own backyard!
