About This Project

### Koi Pond by Nancy Cartwright California Waterscapes is excited to announce the completion of the magical Koi Pond for Nancy Cartwright, the voice of Bart Simpson. Set among the beautiful hills of Los Angeles, this was an absolute labor of love combining art and nature. Our team kicked off the makeover by creating a peaceful water feature where Nancy’s colorful koi could live and thrive. We made a natural pond with a deep waterfall, and used natural stones providing nice sounds and atmosphere. To ensure a sustainable habitat for the fish and surrounding flora, the pond was lined with organic materials (full here). One of the biggest difficulties we were up against was the terrain we had to work with, which needed extensive grading and leveling to allow for a gradual transition from pond to garden. Our seasoned landscapers knew how to handle these challenges, using techniques to allow for proper drainage while maintaining the integrity of the nearby plants. In addition to this lovely pond, we planted lots of water plants with different colors that can adapt well to the local climate to beautify this pond even more. Lastly we also replaced the lighting with energy efficient Led lights to light the pond up at night, providing a magical getaway for Nancy and her guests. The Koi Pond which is the end product result far exceeds the Koi Pond that the clients had originally imagined. Creating a peaceful oasis within her garden, this tranquil spot has become one of Nancy's favorite places to escape to when she wants to get away from the stress of everyday life. California Waterscapes have combined water, stone, and lush greens in a stunning natural masterpiece that works on all levels and that will stand the test of time.
