Our client envisioned an outdoor area that was both beautiful and functional, so this was truly collaborative in nature. We faced challenges like uneven terrain that made it hard to plant the tree saplings, as well as low light penetration that needed a little bit of ingenuity to overcome, but our team was able to rise to the occasion. Our plantings for the landscape consisted of native plants that shed creeper in that climate zone, and that also attract beneficial animals. A design that grouped ornamental grasses, colorful perennials, and shrubs to add mass and depth and play off of each other. Innovative for a great outdoor experience, we also installed a customized stone pathway with locally sourced materials that blended in with the architecture. The pathway traversed through the green, leading to small gathering space draped with softscape features - fragrant flowering plants and a water feature offering calming sounds and aesthetics for a relaxation point. Our team paid careful attention to every detail of the from the layout and plant choices to the installation process. The only issue we faced was the previous bad drainage on the block, which we fixed by installing a new irrigation system that provides the latest in plant care and water conservation. We end up creating a stunning landscape that connects with our client vision and exceeds their expectations.
