Rustic Chic >> Eye of the Day + The eye-catching composition merged simplicity and elegance to offer a glimpse of Eye of the Day’s level of creativity and craftsmanship on this 'Rustic Chic' landscaping in the heart of Laguna Beach. The client required an outdoor area in sync with the coast then a space in which family could come together and relax. We started by surveying the site with precision, identifying the challenges presented by the hilly landscape and finding areas where sunlight would be available. With that in mind, we introduced tiered planting beds of local natural stone to provide more space for both beauty and balance. The plants we chose are native to the region and are plastered with drought-resistance to sustain color and diversity throughout the seasons. At its heart is a beautiful reclaimed wood pergola that shades the dining area and serves as a rustic visual anchor to the space. Then pairing this with hand-carved stone paths winding through bushy gardens creating a warm ambience. The rustic chic theme was reinforced by the use of warm, natural materials throughout flagstone, reclaimed wood, and artisanal pottery completing the look to welcome the family to their private sanctuary. The end product is a tastily functional outdoor living area that meets, and even surpasses, the design conceptualized by the customer. They were very pleased with the feedback, as the family now has a great space to gather, entertain their friends, and also relax and unwind by nature. Each garden proves that Eye of the Day is able to take the everyday and make it extraordinary, truly one landscape at a time and 'Rustic Chic' represents just one of these achievements. The company which serves the communities of Aliso Viejo, Dana Point, Laguna Hills, and beyond hopes to cultivate more spaces that mirror its clients, both in taste and living experience.
