Landscape Renovation for Los Altos Los Altos Landscape Renovation by Deanna Foster Landscape Design Deanna Foster Landscape Design is excited to showcase this stunning landscape renovation that transformed their outdoor living area in downtown Pasadena, California. The goal of this extensive renovation was to transform a mundane space into a lively, functional, and sustainable garden that complements the existing architecture and connects to the natural landscape. Among the various types of landscaping, they had a beautiful native California garden along with a drought-tolerant garden well acclimated to our climate. To bring in some visual interest, Deanna Foster along with her crew installed a winding flagstone line, hand-picked out of local quarries for greater weather resistance and natural look. Pathways bordered by soft, ornamental grasses and colorful succulents are welcoming but also calming and beg to be explored. A key hurdle in the renovation was the slopey nature of the land. To combat this, the team utilized tiered garden beds to both maximize space and add visual variety. The raised beds were built using sustainably-sourced cedar, giving it a natural look and blend into the surrounding plants. The design also thought ease of access for garden maintenance at the home to the owners. A locally sourced stone fire pit was built to meld the landscape together. Its a great feature to gather around, and make the outdoor area a perfect space to entertain family and friends under the stars. On this one, they incorporated some comfortable seating surrounding the fire pit to create a place to relax. The Los Altos Landscape Renovation is beautiful outdoor sanctuary that culminates the clients highest aspirations. This became a beautiful and functional with sustainability in mind that not just rejuvenated the property but also provided somewhere to enjoy and connect to nature. Now the happy homeowners can enjoy this beautiful landscape, a reflection of their lifestyle, set into the fabric of Pasadenan life, a real jewel in the Deanna Foster Landscape Design portfolio.
