Set against the beautiful scenery of Great Barrington, this included the painstakingly labour intensive pruning of a sprawling hedgemaze gone wild. The talented team first analysed the complex layout of the hedgemaze which used a mixture of boxwood and privet hedges. They were selected due to their hardwearing nature and long-term shape retention. It was a tall order recreating the hedgemaze to its former glory whilst not dictating too much the natural growth cycle of the plants. Our expert knowledge helped a lot as we used these techniques to encourage healthy growth and to do visual enhancements of the maze. In the course of the , one of the challenges was to keep access to the complex paths unblocked, while also preserving the hedge's quality appearance. Using the best tools and a steady hand, our team worked to achieve the clean, sharp lines that outline the structure of the maze. It produced an amazing transformation which not only rejuvenated the hedgemaze but also streamlined vision lines and access to visitors. Our client and the local community were overjoyed with the final result. Surrounded by a once-tangled, unruly maze, it is now one of the centrepieces of Southmayd Farm and lures guests to run its whimsical pathways.
