About This Project

Hillside Entertainment This is an outstanding landscape transformation designed and built by Michael Rosenberg Landscape Architecture located in the beautiful Santa Cruz Mountains. This expansive outdoor area is designed to encompass form and function, combining both community and leisure with an outdoor living space where guests can relax and entertain. The holds a large multi-tiered patio designed using locally sourced flagstone that ties the together with a sense of natural rusticity while adding character to the existing landscape. The was designed with outdoor seating and included custom built seating areas with outdoor cushions, encouraging guests to enjoy the beautiful view of the valley below. Built around the seating is an expansive outdoor kitchen designed with quality materials, including a built in grill and granite counter tops- perfect for the outdoor dining experience when entertaining family and friends. A major design challenge in this was the steep hillside slope, which required innovative engineering solutions to create a stable drainage system for the . We carefully placed a sustainable retaining wall system made from reclaimed wood to hold the hillside back and provide a unique aesthetic to the landscape. Along with using reclaimed wood, we specified a mix of native and drought tolerant landscaping to ensure sustainability and low maintenance. We took the aesthetic one step further and added outdoor lighting that added dramatic effect to the space. The LED lighting was strategically placed along the various pathways and in key areas of the to create a warm atmosphere for evening gatherings. The end result was a beautiful balance of outdoor living and natural landscape. Michael Rosenberg Landscape Architecture successfully delivered a that fulfilled the clients vision and maximized the value of their property. In the end, we left the clients and their guests amazed by this unique outdoor space, 'Hillside Entertainment.' This is simply a testament of the quality construction and original thinking presented by Michael Rosenberg Landscape Architecture.
