An ambitious re-invention of an old landscape that infused contemporary forms into an environmentally-sensitive site. So our expert team started with studying the current site, figuring out the bottlenecks in terms of performance, layout or features & functions, and closely working with the client to understand their own vision. This included the introduction of a truly diverse mix of natives to create not only a sight for sore eyes but a better managed environment. Our focus was on choosing hardy and durable perennials, grasses, and flowering shrubs that do well in our local climate to ensure season-long interest and with the added benefit of attracting local wildlife. We created natural stone pathways sourced locally, and they provided a seamless flow through the property and tied the look together. These pathways, along with boulders, add utility and rustic appeal. We struggled to grow on unlevel ground and poor earth, brought a fixed and narrow soil to the top growing garden beds, and made use of natural soil amendments to prepare it for viable plant growth. Also added was a beautiful water feature, consisting of a bubbling brook that provides both a visual focal point and an auditory aspect to the garden. It was designed using original stone and rare aquatic plants to create a natural habitat that encourages tranquility. With a end result of a stunning outdoor oasis that marries beauty and functionality; the Landscape Renovation !
