About This Project

The Parkway Kitchen project is a testament to innovative design and meticulous craftsmanship, transforming a once-compartmentalized space into a cohesive and functional culinary haven. Originally composed of three distinct rooms with five varying ceiling heights and an outdated marbled fiberglass Jacuzzi, the reconfiguration process aimed to simplify and unify the area. By opening up the kitchen layout and implementing inventive HVAC updates, we achieved a seamless ceiling plane that enhances the overall sense of space and light. The design smartly retained the original back stairwell while incorporating a former closet into a striking full-height cabinet wall, maximizing storage without compromising aesthetics. This wall features flush doors that create a streamlined appearance, allowing the kitchen's design elements to take center stage. The transition of the tiny breakfast nook into a practical laundry room exemplifies the project’s commitment to maximizing utility while maintaining style. Additionally, a new powder room has replaced a coat closet, providing essential convenience for guests and residents alike. A carefully curated color palette of white quartz countertops, pristine white tile, and rich walnut cabinets contributes to the kitchen's modern yet inviting ambiance. The cabinets are adorned with continuous linear handles, offering a contemporary contrast to the original flooring and window designs, thereby bridging the old and new elements of the home. A carefully selected vignette from the front of the house frames a stunning artwork piece positioned above a custom walnut table, drawing the eye and enhancing the overall aesthetic of the space. The Parkway Kitchen stands as a shining example of how thoughtful design and strategic reconfiguration can breathe new life into a home, creating an inviting and functional space that meets the needs of modern living while celebrating its architectural heritage.
