The Dutch House project involved a meticulous renovation of a Brookside Dutch Colonial home, transforming it from the studs outward into a modern marvel. This comprehensive overhaul focused on reimagining the dining and kitchen areas, which were initially hindered by cramped layouts and awkward transitions. By removing the wall that separated the kitchen from the dining room, we successfully created a more open and inviting space, enhancing the flow and functionality of the home. The new design allows natural light to flood the area through strategically placed windows, further amplifying the sense of openness. The aesthetic choices made in this renovation blend contemporary elegance with classic charm. Transitional rift sawn oak cabinets were installed, harmonizing beautifully with the clean lines of the space. High-end materials were thoughtfully selected, including soapstone and quartz countertops paired with exquisite Calcutta Gold marble accents. These elements work in concert to achieve a sleek, sophisticated style that feels both modern and warm, making it a perfect gathering place for family and friends. In addition to the kitchen and dining room transformation, the powder and laundry areas were reconfigured to maximize efficiency and storage.
