The goal of the was to create a welcoming outdoor space that improved the aesthetics of the property while providing a functional walkway that connected various garden areas to each other. The creation of a garden begins with an extensive consultation the desires and ideas of the client. We incorporated native and/or climate appropriate plant material that establishes an overall sustainable landscape, and included colorful flowering perennial plants, ornamental grasses, and beautifully selected shrubs to offer year-round interest. The colorful array of blooming flowers is the central theme of the garden and was artistically developed to provide the garden with a colorful display each season of the year. To create the walkway, we selected natural flagstone that is durable and attractive. The stones were arranged using an organic pattern to create durability while at the same time providing a sense of curiosity to encourage movement along the pathadding joy to the journey through the garden space. To ensure that the walk was accessible and stable, we incorporated a compact gravel base to allow visitors to enjoy the path and garden. In addition to designing the garden, our team had to overcome challenges presented by property conditions such as unlevel terrain and existing root systems that required careful forethought and planning. We combined suitable techniques and tools to make sure the was functional and pleasing at the end of the day while ensuring the layout was sustainable.
