Accommodating areas from Arlington to Woburn, our team transformed an outdoor area into a proactive approach that connects nature and the space with art. This garden presents an array of plants native to the New England climate. This rich color palette emphasizes sustainable design practices and supports regional diversity while focusing on seasonal interest. Emphasizing the tenets of the Arts and Crafts movement, the design created paths of stone, handcrafted, to fuse into the perennial beds for a welcome home. Local natural bluestone shaped the patio that reflects the surrounding landscape and nature, contributing to an earthy palette to the New England landscape. One of the highlights of the space is the timber pergola, which is custom designed and adds a bit of magnificence while also providing shaded areas for resting and meeting. Built from sustainably harvested wood on the pergola, it is climbing with vines and flowers that will prosper in time. The installation highlighted the custom water feature. Designing this as an aspect of auditory movement and serenity was a challenge for the team. The sound of the pond moving with an efficient natural filtration system, not only adds value to the aesthetic but also cocoons wildlife to add color and movement to the ecosystem. Landscape Architects worked throughout the entirety of the to help solve pre-existing drainage and vertifying grading concerns. Each unique and repairable under the modification during installation, though development was achieved to assure the fit and durability of the long-term integration of the landscape. In sum, the team at Timothy Lee Landscape Design has created a beautiful space in a backyard the incorporates all of our ideals of aesthetic beauty and functionality.
