Before & After by Green Spaces Landscaping Green Spaces Landscaping has recently finished an ambitious undertaking called 'Before & After'. We transformed an underwhelming backyard into a tranquil outdoor haven. The , located in the beautiful Sammamish area, came with challenges, but it provided our team opportunities to display our landscape design skills. On site, we started with a lot of sloped ground, few plants, and a forlorn space where the patio used to be; all left both the homeowners and visitors uninspired. We took time to analyze the layout and identify key pieces that would enhance the functional and aesthetically pleasing nature of the site. We have chosen materials of excellence, such as natural stone pavers for the patio, reclaimed wood for the raised garden beds, and a wide variety of native plants to support sustainable upkeep of the areas. One of the biggest challenges for our crew was that the backyard sloped significantly, so to create usable space, a tiered retaining wall was needed for the whole backyard. Our craftsman expertly built the retaining wall to last using materials that could withstand the weather elements while working seamlessly with the natural landscape. We also installed a drainage system to manage water runoff as well. The outcome of the is simply stunning! Our team produced multiple zones to enjoy outside, including a fire pit area for gatherings, a garden for vegetables that supports growing food at home, and a cozy seating area without sacrificing plantings that are lush and well-placed. Our design has improved the look of the property overall, enhanced the functional value of the property, and created a wonderful space for the family to enjoy for relaxation or gathering.
