Patio & Sitting Areas by Great Oaks Landscape Associates Inc. Great Oaks Landscape Associates Inc. recently completed one of our latest landscaping s called 'Patio & Sitting Areas'. This changed an ordinary backyard into an incredible outdoor living space. Our work that services a variety of communities, such as Birmingham, Bloomfield Hills, and Novi, prides itself on craftsmanship and innovative design based on each client's vision. The consisted of a large multi-level patio built using attractive pavers that resist exposure, and were selected for their durability. The design incorporated natural stone retaining walls, which provided structure and aesthetics throughout the space. We included custom seating areas with beautiful and comfortable cushions so friends and family could enjoy the new areas together. An obstacle we faced was loading and relocating some dirt from the existing, uneven patio area and establishing a value drainage system, to maintain drainage of water runoff during heavy rainfall. We overcame this by using a value drainage system, while maintaining the aesthetics of the landscape, so that the seal and patio would last. We offered the owners shrubbery and perennials, which are native to the area, with continuous blooms throughout the seasons, which also attracted additional species of wildlife. We also enhanced the pathways and seating area with soft lights for when guests gathered at night. Our clients were beyond pleased with their new outdoor living space, which encompasses both functionality and beauty. The completed was a mix of everything they wanted and ideal for entertainment and relaxation.
