Summers Backyard Bocce Court The Collins Turf Division is thrilled to share the 'Summers Backyard Bocce Court' , an incredible renovation to enhance outdoor entertainment in Jacksonville. This is a blend of relaxing and fun, vibrant enough to host family and friends in a fun and competitive atmosphere. After reviewing the Summers' backyard and its peculiarities with slope and landscape items, we began our due diligence to grade the rough area level to have the ideal pitch for a bocce court, without interfering with tree canopy or drainage access. Using compacted high-quality crushed stone and long-lasting weather-resistant turf, we provided the court a recreational surface that met recreational usage and sports standards and meld seamlessly into the backyard space. As part of our , we designed and constructed a custom wooden swooping border around the playing surface, made from responsibly and sustainably sourced cedar to create a rustic feel for the playing surface, and kept the playing surface intact. The wooden borders provide easy maintenance and long-lasting use. To enhance the , we also established native plant landscaping around the perimeters of the court that fit perfectly into the Jacksonville climate to provide vibrant texture, colors, and shades. During the , our team faced challenges, such as collaborating on drainage methods with other stakeholders to prevent water pooling in the court, while keeping accessibility for the provided water and natural drainage, so the court could be used throughout the year. Our compliance and care for quality craftsmanship and attention to detail were evident in our final execution and ultimately satisfying the client. The Summers family can now bring countless hours of fun and competition in the beautifully landscaped backyard with the lure of nature and laughter combined with friends and family.
