About This Project

North Denver Small Backyard We proudly share our transformation of the 'North Denver Small Backyard' as part of our commitment to design and quality. This presented challenges as it was a compact urban backyard with limited sunlight, and the client required functional outdoor spaces that reflected their lifestyle. Our professionals began with a thorough site analysis, from which we could capture important vegetative and site components, as well as limitations. We were able to design a beautiful combination of native plants and perennial drought-resistant plants appropriate for Denver's growing conditions, thereby limiting maintenance while maintaining a thriving garden. The created stone path was not only beautiful, but also allowed for seamless movement through the landscape, guiding guests to the seating area adjacent to the fire pit. The new composite deck created functional space for potential entertaining clients, as well as tranquility beneath the stars at night. Alongside the composite decking, we completed a tailored fire pit that served its purpose during cooler evening events. Continuing our theme of wanting to use high-quality materials while returning to the natural space, we created transition spaces between the home and the natural setting. While working on this backyard retreat, we had to problem-solve items like uneven surfaces and drainage. In addressing terrain, we utilized techniques to add drainage while maintaining as much design integrity as we could. The end result of this backyard transformation offers a beautiful space that offers the client's desired functions and aesthetic. The client was thrilled with the final result and even commented on their new oasis that they and their family can use while at home - even at night to bring back social interactions with extended family and friends.
