Fernandina Beach Backyard Putting Green - Amelia Island The Fernandina Beach Backyard putting green was recently completed by Collins Turf Division, delivering on our promises of quality and innovative landscaping. Nestled in the tranquil villages of Amelia Island, this transformed an underdeveloped section of our client's backyard into a customized putting green for leisure use and as a statement piece. We began the with a full site evaluation, working hand-in-hand with our client to determine the best orientation for the putting green, creating a design that will mesh with the surrounding site. We used high-quality synthetic turf with a natural grass look and feel, low maintenance, and able to endure the coastal climate of Jacksonville, as well as a unique drainage system to redirect water runoff to improve the sandy soil conditions that may have retained too much water from typical rainfall patterns. We incorporated landscaping features to create interest, initially framing the green with natural stone edging, which provides more than just decoration - it serves as an effective barrier from grass and weeds encroaching onto the green's surface. In addition, we replenished the native vegetation around the entire perimeter, complementing the putting green with the island's natural beauty and attracting local wildlife. The outcome was magnificent - a stunning, professional-grade putting green - which filled our customer's request. The putting green has a smooth putting surface and an intentional layout that is fun for our client to practice golf and includes a pleasant gathering space for families.
