Private Modern San Diego Home by Mooch Exterior Designs, Inc. Located in the heart of San Diego, Mooch Exterior Designs, Inc. has had the pleasure of designing an astounding residential landscaping . We were challenged with the task of enhancing this modern home's outdoor space into an outdoor haven. We are proud to say that the end result is a modern, yet inviting outdoor living space that reflects the client's vision. The process began with a lengthy consultation to determine the client's preferred style and a functional outdoor space. Then we set designing unique landscape elements into the . For example, an elegant yet minimalist hardscape design featured very large format porcelain tiles that emulate indoor flooring, which would help transition the indoor to the outdoor living areas of the home. Next, a custom fire pit was installed, surrounded by sophisticated seating to create a gathering space for family and friends. Furthermore, modern water features added additional calming spatial audibility to the site. For our plant selection, we used drought-tolerant native species of plants, which flourish in the San Diego climate and provide a modern aesthetic. Our layout incorporated gathering and seating via visually appealing succulents, additions of ornamental grasses, and low-maintenance shrubs that provided hands-free interest for year-round use and minimal water usage. One of the hurdles we faced was that the property was an uneven terrain. This resulted in having to devise a grading solution that would ensure there was appropriate drainage and erosion prevention. However, our team was experienced with and successfully graded the area, thereby enabling us to craft planting tiers that offered depth and dimension to our design. The final result is a home that features modern architecture and natural flora that draws you to experience the outdoor living space. The client was thrilled with the end result and was now the owner of a beautiful, functional space that reflected their home and lifestyle.
