Landscaping of Downers Grove Private Residence CB Conlin Landscapes Inc. is pleased to present the rejuvenation of the landscape at the Downers Grove Private Residence, showcasing our approach to quality and creativity. Located in a pleasant community, the included a complete landscape overhaul to improve both aesthetics and function. The design uses a wide variety of native plantings; a selection of plants known for their beauty and durability to create interest year-round. The vibrant palette is made up of a colorful selection of perennials, ornamental grasses, with seasonal evergreen accents. The centerpiece of the is the custom stone patio built from locally sourced bluestone, perfect for hosting outdoor events, and blending seamlessly with the surrounding landscape. One of the design challenges we faced in this was the site’s changing elevations. The team had to come up with creative ways to create one cohesive flow to the outdoor space. Terraced gardens were successfully constructed using durable natural stone retaining walls that made the site usable while maintaining the integrity of the landscape “as is.” In addition, we used best practices to install a thoughtfully designed irrigation system to ensure continued and sustainable growth for this site; exemplifying our goal to reduce the landscape’s environmental impact. The result is a show-stopping outdoor retreat that captures the homeowner’s vision and then some. The combination of hardscapes and softscapes transforms this residence into a quiet retreat; where they can relax alone or host others. The homeowners were thrilled with the collaboration and thought put forth for this landscape solution, they now use the outdoor space to enjoy their own thoughtfully curated landscape from CB Conlin Landscapes Inc.’s craftsmanship. This application exemplified our commitment to excellence and being proud to serve the Greater Chicago area, and we look forward to awakening more dreams to develop outdoor spaces in places like Aurora, Naperville, and beyond.
