Info: My Own Garden by Forristt Landscape Design In the beginning of 2017, surrounded by California's gorgeous landscapes, "My Own Garden," reflects the latest s brought to life by Forristt Landscape Design, and demonstrates the artistry and the high quality standards which exist. This was a fairly small residential yard converted into a densely planted oasis custom designed for the client who envisioned a sanctuary in their own home. The layout incorporates a variety of native plant species that have been chosen for their beauty and sustainability, which means the garden is able to thrive with a minimal amount of maintenance. Visitors can wander through the garden on a beautifully designed path of recycled California flagstone lined with colorful flowerbeds and peaceful benches. A variety of herbs and vegetables are planted in custom cedar planters, marrying form and function. The first hurdle was grading for the steep site. We built tiered planting beds that made the garden really beautiful, matched the plants with different heights and a lot more effective regarding draining water out and preserving the plants in long-term. Modern irrigation was fitted to allow us to continue watering the garden and keep it flourishing but use as little water as possible, a feature that also reflects our approach to sustainability. The final additions consisted of ambient lighting to invite those stars-studded evenings spent gathering with friends around the firepits, as well as a calming water feature to provide a gentle sound wall, further invoking the tranquil nature of the surroundings. The end product is a stunning garden that fulfills the expectations of the clients and beyond, offering a retreat within their home landscape that pays tribute to the originate beauty of California.
