The beauty of local plantings, elegant stonework, and clever design creates a magical garden that takes the idea of luxury landscaping to a new level. To begin, the featured a strong stone wall, built with local granite that offers both privacy and an ageless appeal. A drape of flowering shrubs and drought-tolerant perennials can be seen cascading down the wall, picked for their beauty throughout the seasons and for their ability to thrive on the Century City climate. We chose materials for durability and little maintenance for the homeowners. The amount of topography on the site was one of the challenges we had that was unique to this . The team deftly created tiered planting beds to address the drainage concerns while also layering the space for a more visually dynamic view. We let the rise in the land create a visual interest point, enhanced by the integration of ornamental grasses and cascading vines, which help this part of the garden become a focus point of interest that the eye will naturally want to travel to. As more than just a beautiful landscape feature, a flagstone pathway also serves a practical purpose of gently guiding visitors from one quiet area of the garden to the next. This constructed path of reused stone combines well with the area while offering a hard landscape to endure California's diverse weather patterns. The result is a stunning oasis of serenity and elegance. The Willow Glen Walled Garden has transformed into a small oasis for the homeowners with the perfect atmosphere for retreat and pampering. From the lush greenery to the splashes of color to the homey architecture, this not only served the client well but exceeded expectations, highlighting Forristt Landscape Design's relentless pursuit of excellence within landscaping and garden design.
