Community & Development Master Plans by Meier Landscape Architecture At Meier Landscape Architecture, we are dedicated to crafting visions into lush realities. Our recent work Community & Development Master Plans is a great example of our dedication to quality in Kansas City Metro area in Belton, Bucyrus, Grandview, Leawood and more. This site landscaping scope of work involved the design and installation of amenity spaces to fit in the surrounding context. Native plants were included to provide biodiversity along with low-maintenance and sustainability. Different types of amenities incorporated or constructed included large open green lawns, seasonal flowering gardens, and newly planted trees to provide shade and beauty. A notable feature of the was the usage of permeable pavers for the community path to facilitate stormwater management while reducing runoff, lower erosion, and keep adjacent areas dry. We faced several design challenges, particularly regarding incorporating existing natural features. This required some latitude and original ideas in development of the site. All work for this involved collaboration with Public Works and input from the community represented by a Board of Trustees to resolve zoning or natural resource issues. We endeavored to create the best final plan to meet the specific needs of a community and that community's landscape elements. The final product was a beautiful landscape that elicits a positive feeling to the aesthetics of the site and creates a sense of community for residents. The designed spaces are meant to facilitate outdoor experiences and foster relationships among residents, place matters. Our final product was well received, pleasing the client while meeting the design goals of function and beauty.
