About This Project

Description of a Modern Patio by KAPPLE Landscape Design Located in Northeast Florida, we showcased our latest , the "Modern Patio," which is indicative of what KAPPLE Landscape Design accomplishes within the realm of modern outdoor living design. Situated in the forward-thinking Jacksonville community, this was designed to convert an underutilized backyard into an appealing outdoor space. At the heart of the patio, we designed a contemporary multi-level decking system out of a durable, low-maintenance composite material, in order to provide a contemporary outdoor living space. To surround the patio, we designed and constructed a botanical landscape out of attractive hydrophobic plants, which both greatly enhanced the visual appeal and provided sustainability within the local ecology. While working on the , we encountered one significant challenge, which was the severely sloped terrain which we proposed needed to be trimmed and leveled to construct the patio to be at grade with the surrounding landscape. This challenged presented multiple drainage obstacles which we approached with innovative solutions to maintain functionality during heavy rainfall. Additionally, we designed in a fire pit to create ambiance with modern furnishings and placed LED light fixtures that enhanced the visual attributes of the landscape at night. Accordingly, we highlighted our client’s patio with natural stone accents as to designed a comfortable place to relax and entertain guests. Ultimately, our overall outcome to this far exceeded our client’s expectations of creating a stylish outdoor living space into there lifestyle.
