The garden features a variety of Japanese-inspired style hardscaping and softscaping , such as a koi pond, stone paths, and natural plants to create a feeling of peace and repose. The primary element of the garden is a built wooden gazebo designed for relaxation and meditation, surrounded by natural ornamental grasses and flowering cherry trees that bloom in the spring and provide colorful beauty to the reflective setting. While designing this space, the KAPPLE Landscape Design team sourced high-quality natural stone and materials to create meandering pathways and retaining walls, supporting our desire to create a beautiful and organic design while ensuring our clients can enjoy the garden for many years to come. Challenges emerged throughout the , including uneven terrain and drainage concerns, which we knew we needed to address along the way. Our engineers effectively designed and planned for a subtle grading system while also utilizing permeable surfaces to help and dispose of rainwater. The end result is a stunning secret oasis that meets - and even exceeds, our client's dreams of an escape from Jacksonville daily life. Using high-quality and craftsmanship, KAPPLE Landscape Design has designed a lovely garden space that is an outdoor experience connecting humans to nature and a calmness that our client was hoping to experience in their space.
