Hackman Lawn & Landscape Work: Landscaping Refresh Check out our latest "Landscaping Revamp" that we recently completed for a very happy client in Chesterfield. The is a complete redesign of the home garden with an emphasis on functionality and appearance. We started with an assessment of the existing landscape, which included an outdated design and minimal plant diversity. Our design was a welcoming garden using native plants, ornamental shrubs and colorful flower beds with a strong emphasis on sustainability. Beautiful and durable materials were purposely selected such as durable stone pavers were laid for the walkways and finer timber edging to define the garden beds. The number one challenge for us was the slope of the land, so we needed to wear straw and implement a tiered planting plan. We used precise grading and retaining walls to choreograph the flow of the landscape and add visual layers. This approach was a novel solution to have deep planting but a controlled drainage condition. Our crew also included a beautiful water feature with a small waterfall, not just to provide life to the property, but to attract wildlife to make the garden their home. A large amount of hardscaping, including a designed custom patio for entertaining outside, was created to blend into the natural landscape as the client wished for a escape from city life right in their own backyard. The end result was a stunning outdoor area that surpassed our customers dreams. The harmonious balance of greenery, blooms, and relevant hardscapes resulted in function meeting form.
