The combined function and beauty to improve the client’s experience on their back lawn, as well as add substantial value to the home. The central feature of the was the beautiful multi-level deck, built from premium, sustainably sourced cedar wood, known for its durability and natural resistance to decay. Each level had its own unique purpose, from an upper sun-drenched space for afternoon lounging to a lower level sheltered from the sun and ready for family dinners. The variable height of the levels added visual interest and included pleasurable views of the landscape. Adding to the multi-level deck was a stunning pergola built to offer partial shade from the sun while allowing for filtered sunlight to come through. The new pergola was made from heavy-duty aluminum that was wrapped with a premium grade vinyl material to last well into the future with little maintenance. Climbing plants are growing in the pergola and outdoor string lights make this area equally inviting for late-night conversations under the stars. Some challenges that GLDesigns faced for the included plans to build on an uneven terrain and improving drainage in the area. Using innovative solutions like proper grading and digging to improve drainage allowed the deck structure to feel more stable long into the future. Our team of skilled professionals enabled us to solve for these challenges while simultaneously enhancing our front landscape design to integrate the fresh deck. The finished product is an absolutely stunning outdoor oasis living room that exceeded every expectation that the client once owned. The new deck and pergola area transformed how this family would generate memories as they became the focal entertaining spot for summer barbeques and evenings away from the indoors.
