Remarkably, shortly after the waterproofing was completed, Los Angeles faced its most significant rainfall in over seventy years, with 16 inches recorded in December and January. The Desert Crete decking rose to the challenge, performing flawlessly without any leaks reported, highlighting the effectiveness of the materials used. This waterproofing solution was further enhanced with a finished traffic surface that featured a decorative stamped and stained design, resembling elegant tile. Desert Crete, manufactured by Hill Brothers Chemical Company, is an ICC-ES evaluated coating that meets or exceeds the 1997 Uniform Building Code and the 2006 International and Residential Building Codes, ensuring it is both fire resistant and suitable for high-traffic areas.
