Our designers began the process by assessing the existing design and layout, identifying key aspects to highlight and important constraints to work around (like uneven terrain and limited sunlight). The team then methodically planned a multi-tiered landscape that provided beauty and created a proper sharing for drainage and usability. To enhance the landscape, we took advantage of a native plant palette. Many species we chose are drought-resistant and include ornamental grasses and flowering perennials - maintaining a full scope of color and greenery, while not using much water during our dry months. The team worked diligently making the natural stone hardscaping, like the retaining wall we custom built for the client and the beautiful flagstone patio that tied the pool to the garden. The value of enhancing the space with ambient light and boulders that mimicked the natural landscape added a sense of depth and texture to the whole area. We created a perfect setting for entertaining guests with an outdoor kitchen that contained a rustic stone grill and bar seating. Throughout the , our team worked with poor soil conditions, and the existing structures did not harmonize with the new design of the pool landscape. However, through thoughtful planning and execution, we were able to produce the product you see in person today, which is sustainable and functional as well as beautiful. Most importantly, our client now has a stunning poolside landscape that welcomes her to the outdoor space in every season. It is a landscape of curated plant selections, durable materials, and thoughtful designs. The has become a true outdoor living space for relaxation and entertaining; it exemplifies the quality and craftsmanship of Thompson's Landscaping.
