Murray - Wilson's Natural Landscaping, LLC Landscaping Transformation The 'Murray' , located in Concord, is an undertaking that showcases the artistry and craft that Wilson's Natural Landscaping, LLC is passionate . A full reformation of the form and function of an existing landscape, this included a detailed design phase that emphasized utility and beauty to the specific needs of the homeowner. From the beginning, the design team addressed multiple challenges, including a sloped site and parts of the landscape with limited sunlight. Ultimately, the team devised a brilliant new design that incorporated tiered gardens using natural stone retaining walls made from locally-sourced granite. The movement and texture of the stonework provided added depth and character while also limiting erosion and battling the longevity of the landscape. Using native plants was a key principle in this design. Plants that thrive in our local climate and provide habitat for pollinators are a must. The design included flowering perennials, like black-eyed Susan and coneflower, accompanied by lush ornamental grasses to make a dynamic color palette that changes with the seasons. The outdoor living spaces were also designed with a custom patio using permeable pavers that effectively drain water to reduce runoff. It was a great social gathering space and blended into the surrounding garden. Lighting became a key design consideration for the 'Murray' . Now, low-energy LED fixtures illuminate the landscape after dark, providing amazing visual beauty while ensuring safety throughout the property. The final outcome left our client overjoyed as their previous underutilized yard transformed into an inviting oasis of tranquility. The structure of the hardscaping and softer garden areas, which are cohesively blended together, made their property more aesthetically and environmentally pleasant.
