'3D' by Living Spaces By Kimberly Located within the Greater Pittsburgh Metropolitan Area, the '3D' landscaping by Living Spaces By Kimberly turned an ordinary backyard into an impressive, multi-dimensional outdoor space. The was carefully developed to provide both functional and aesthetic elements that invite relaxation and entertainment. The main feature of '3D' is the tiered garden which features natural stone retaining walls that provide both structure and visual interest to the landscape. Each tier is planted with a combination of perennial plants, ornamental grasses, and flowering plants that provide year-round color and texture. The design also includes a winding path using reclaimed brick that leads visitors through the landscape and encourages exploration. One of the main challenges to address within the was the variation in elevations. Living Spaces By Kimberly successfully addressed this gradually changing elevation with technical solutions that included planning for drainage and grading all three tiers of the garden for proper functionality and flow. The team also sourced quality materials from local materials to ensure both sustainability and design, creating a space that is durable enough to withstand the elements while complementing the character of the home. The finishing touches included custom bench seating with natural wood and a fire pit that is an inviting gathering space for family and friends. The outdoor space was also illuminated to show off the beauty of the plants and walkways, ensuring a lively space to gather outside at night.
