Barbara and Richard's Dream LandscapePhoto Credit: Garden To Life Landscaping Located in the stunning hills of Aptos, this landscaping for Barbara and Richard is proof of the creative talent and professionalism of Garden To Life Landscaping. It is a transformative that was born from the desire to create a functional retreat outdoors and to integrate beauty and nature seamlessly. A plethora of landscaping accents were designed within the plan, including a custom native flagstone patio that gives an alluring sophistication while reducing the longevity of man-made alternatives. As a feature that highlights the outdoor living area, we included a handmade wooden pergola that is draped in climbing vines and flowering plants, which provide a shaded hideaway in summer months. We are faced with many challenges like the uneven terrain of the site. The solution our talented team created incorporated tiered garden beds, making an aesthetic feature whilst allowing for better drainage and accessibility. We chose an eclectic and colorful collection of native plants with low maintenance and plenty of local pollinators and including California poppies and lavender. We also installed an efficient irrigation system ensuring beautiful green lawns in all seasons using less water. We were detail-oriented right down to the stonework and plant, each detail exemplifying quality craftsmanship. The end result was a unified space that Barbara and Richard could enjoy with family and friends, their own backyard sanctuary.
