Minimalist Meadow

Minimalist Meadow by Wildwood Landscapes + Design Wildwood Landscapes + Design recently completed the 'Minimalist Meadow' , located in central Bay Area, another for neighborhoods of Albany to Sausalito, that sustains simplicity and detail without sacrificing the beauty and beneficial grit and fauna of the natural environment. This custom residential landscape asked Wildwood to create an outdoor space which would blend in with the artistic outdoors, create their ideal low maintenance landscape, and foster healthy species and diversity. To get started, a detailed site analysis revealed the unique topography, as well as existing plants, that inspired a new landscape and garden design. This used native grass and perennials throughout the new outdoor space, like California poppies and purple sage, that not only thrive in our climate, but create healthy biomes for pollinators. Within the scheme, the design aesthetic maintained the minimalist look by capturing the organic detailing of the natural topography and flora using designs created with simple, geometric shapes and clean, high quality materials - custom stone walkways using local stone sources and raised natural wood planters. One of the largest challenges was to properly grade the land so that rainwater was guided away from the home, while not compromising the design. The team crafted sustainable drainage with minimal contours through the existing vegetation and the new landscape s, while make the rest of the look neat and tidy. All of this was accomplished without sacrificing the lush, green landscaping! The result is a relaxing refuge that invites you to stop, unwind, and quiet the noise of life. The open, large spaces are captured by two specific seating areas which allow the family to use either one to enjoy the beauty the landscape offers. Even more, the 'Minimalist Meadow' resonates with the family's functional needs to host family gatherings as much as it soothes the informal gatherings for quiet time.
