Modern Outdoor Living Space by Sherwood Landscape Lighting and Design Located in Medford New Jersey, Sherwood Landscape Lighting and Design recently completed the 'Modern Outdoor Living Space' , which transformed a typical backyard into a glorious entertainment & leisure space. Sherwood serves communities throughout Berlin, Cherry Hill, Hainesport, and beyond and worked effortlessly with skilled landscapers on this job to connect modern trends to form functional designs. This consisted of a large composite deck made of durable and weather-resistant materials which fit perfectly within its overall landscape. To give it a modern look, we also included aluminum railing systems and modern outdoor furniture. Strategically placed LED landscape lighting was added to offer décor and atmosphere, as pathways were illuminated and key features were accentuated to provide a sense of safety and sanctuary in the evenings. A custom fire pit including comfortable seating area provides the centerpiece for this outdoor ambiance for guests and family to gather. Permeable pavers were used throughout the outdoor kitchen area, which not only look good, but also assist in drainage issues while being sustainable. We had to deal with the issue of leveling out an uneven yard. This was solved through grading the yard and using retaining walls to promote a steady and functional layout. The lush landscape that surrounds the space includes a mix of native plants offering year-round color while providing habitats for the local wildlife. Finally, a contemporary styled water feature was added to the environment which enhances the tranquil good looks we aimed for. The final product achieved the client's vision of an area that melded nature and contemporary living space.
