Brier Creek DesignScapes of North Carolina, Ltd. The Brier Creek , located in the beautiful Brier Creek area, is a testament to the philosophy of DesignScapes of North Carolina, Ltd., to turn outdoor areas into beautiful landscapes. Our work represents the Brier Creek area served; Five Points, Knightdale, North Hills, Raleigh, Rolesville, Wake Forest, and North Raleigh; these are our service areas; this was focused on improving a large piece of property with great space, use, and aesthetic values. We started with a site assessment which provided us information the existing topography and plant material. We carefully selected a wide range of native plants that were sustainable and supported the existing ecosystems of the site. Eloquent hardscape products including natural stone paving and a fabricated patio presented opportunities for relaxing and entertaining spaces. The encountered many challenges; one was the existing stormwater issues that led to poor drainage. Stormwater runoff was effectively managed through the use of a design of a rain garden by the landscape architects. This soil and water conservation not only created better soil health, but it also presented an incredible aesthetics around the natural blooms and lush green plants during the growing season. Finally, features like outdoor lighting and a water feature created a peaceful atmosphere that felt good both during the day and night. This ended with an overall landscape design aesthetic that blended beauty and utility that both satisfied the client and contributed to the look and feel of the surrounding neighborhood.
