Strickland A Landscape Makeover by DesignScapes of North Carolina, Ltd. Located in North Raleigh, the Strickland was built around the artistry and creativity of DesignScapes of North Carolina, Ltd. This landscape makeover rebalances a contemporary residential yard into a beautiful outdoor escape that harmonizes with the environment. The to incorporate native plants that work well with the natural conditions of North Carolina to look good all year round. There is a lot of stone, like local flagstone walking paths, as well as a dry-stack stone wall built in a rustic fashion to promote discovery. A custom water feature designed to imitate nature's night sounds was easy to make the focal point of the . One of the challenges of the Strickland was the terraced site. DesignScapes' solution was to utilize a tiered garden, not only accomplishing topographical challenges but also creating specific areas for practicality such as entertaining, relaxation, and gardening. One function was the incorporation of raised garden beds, allowing the homeowners to grow their own vegetables and herbs and subsequently engage in a sustainable farm-to-table lifestyle. That's just the creative backdrop to an intricate irrigation system designed for efficiency without the waste of water, encouraging DesignScapes continued tradition of sustainability and responsible landscape management. With the Strickland complete, the homeowners were left with a unique outdoor area that is both beautiful and functional. The client was thrilled to have a garden that reflects their personality and provides another living area.
