About This Project

Starbuck Neck Edgartown Bettencourt Irrigation and Landscaping Lighting is excited to introduce our new landscaping at Starbuck Neck, Edgartown. These transformative landscapes are a remarkable fusion of nature and function. The entire exterior space was renovated to include native plantings, stone pathways, and a custom irrigation system suitable for the unique climate of Martha's Vineyard. First, we addressed the challenges of coastal environments, especially sandy soil and salt exposure. To overcome these issues, we utilized drought-resistant and salt-tolerant plant species to encourage resilience while maintaining the beauty of the landscape. For example, we implemented multiple perennials, grasses, and strategically located native shrubs providing year-round interest and habitats for native species. Natural stone in our hardscape added beauty and allowed for durability against the natural environment. The paths we laid out meandered through the property and maintained the natural look and landscape, and invite people to move around and have access through the home. In addition to these features, we added an irrigation system that allows for conservation while maintaining a lush landscape. Our lighting features were designed to highlight the landscaping and its features at night, extending the use of the outdoor space into twilight hours. Our clients were thrilled with the finished product, and they now enjoy their landscape, which expresses the natural beauty that Edgartown is known for.
