Nora's Way Edgartown Located in the charming town of Edgartown is Nora's Way, a lovely landscaping carried out by Bettencourt Irrigation and Landscaping Lighting, which is well known throughout Martha’s Vineyard, including the communities of Menemsha, Oak Bluffs, Vineyard Haven, West Chop, and West Tisbury. The makeover was created to provide a relaxing retreat outside while being expressed through the natural beauty of the island. The landscaping design itself was incredibly complex, as it focused on utilizing native plants that would last a long time and require little to no maintenance while simultaneously helping to restore the local habitat. We choose top-of-the-line materials including stone that was sourced locally for the hardscaping parts of the , which added beauty and durability in the specific Cape coastal environments. An important aspect of the installation included a custom irrigation system to ensure the wide lush lawns and colorful flower beds received adequate watering and hydration throughout the seasons. One major challenge we faced was dealing with the variations in topography that made grading and drainage relevant to prevent water pooling and erosion. The team tackled sloping sites using techniques that were suited to create a tiered garden displaying a variety of plant species from colorful perennials to fragrant shrubs, all chosen for their enduring presence in the coastal climate. The end result did not disappoint in the least. Now Nora's Way has a beautiful mix of color, texture, and shape that makes the homeowner and guests want to enjoy the peaceful space more and more. A thoughtful path leads through the landscaping, which brings friends and family to a nice fire pit area a short walk away. Nighttime offers a transformed environment due to down lighting, angel lighting, and spot lighting that accentuates the gardens once the sun has gone down. As you can imagine, our clients were pleased with the end result and how we transformed the area into a beautiful retreat.
