Andelin ResidenceImage Credit: Modern Landscape Located in Boise, this Andelin Residence by Modern Landscape showcases the firm's ability to create outdoor getaways. Creating the adequate purpose space this unique landscaping encompassed meticulous design and installation of a functional outdoor space that integrates function and beauty of nature in the harmonious surrounding housed in northwestern Chicago suburbs. With a wide variety of native Idaho plants, perennials that survive in dry climates, and seasonal grasses, this is a much more colorful landscape than before that still blends in with the surrounding ecosystems. Not only was using locally sourced stone for retaining walls both aesthetically pleasing, adding the rustic charm that we loved in the first place, but it also provided long life and hardiness against the elements of this region. We struggled slightly with the unevenness of the land, which was soon been brought to level, creating tiered beds from a visual perspective, but also great for ridged drainage. One of the most eye-catching additions was a water feature a large koi pond with a waterfall that attracted local wildlife, bringing a sense of peace to the garden. A series of direct pathways out of natural flagstone were created to promote the movement of visitors through these gardens, allowing for flow and access to the many areas of the garden. Ambient lighting through the landscape means the Andelin Residence can sparkle at night. Quality craftsmanship is one of the cornerstones of Modern Landscape, and each is not complete without attention to detail. The end productan oasis that melts into the natural environment around itcompletely wowed the Andelin family, who benefit from a new outdoor space that serves as an escape, reflects their way of life, and certainly adds equity to their home.
