The goal of this was more than water management, as it was also focused on making the functionality of the landscape better while enhancing the beauty of the landscape and its surroundings. A thorough analysis of the site was conducted by our team to identify areas problematic for water pooling after heavy rains. Our team designed an efficient drainage system, including French drains, channel drains, and a rain garden. We carefully selected permeable material during the to guarantee water flow and filtration while also providing additional options. The installation of a solid drainage system proved to be a challenge, especially due to the compacted soil on site and the need to improve grading to handle water runoff from the home’s foundation. Our large team of skilled laborers used heavy machinery to complete the excavating of the site, and used high quality pipe systems and gravel beds, which led to effective drainage of water caught on site, while keeping the natural beauty of the landscape on the property intact. The concluded with the construction of a native plant rain garden where the native plants would absorb excess water while attracting local wildlife and lending support to the ecological balance of the landscape.
