Colorful Plantings and Woodland Paths | Nashville, TN Developed by Gardens of Babylon Landscapes, 'Colorful Plantings and Woodland Paths' is a beautiful renewal in the middle of Nashville, Tennessee. This is a reflection of our commitment to unifying nature and artistry - while amplifying the natural beauty of the landscape, and responding to the site challenges. Our client had envisioned a peaceful outdoor escape that would engage with the surrounding woodland, which included an abundance of native plantings, with the goal of creating a wildlife sanctuary that would support local wildlife. Our team carefully selected colorfully and vivacious native perennials, shrubs, and ornamental grasses that would add color and texture throughout the year. We also utilized quality and eco-friendly amenities such as natural stone for pathways and mulch that we sourced sustainably to create an aesthetic that is in harmony with the environment while minimizing the ecological footprint. One of our biggest challenges pertained to the grading, which was uneven and large features needed to be built into the grade to create a sense of symmetry and smooth the paths enough to be inviting. Our landscaping team created rhythm and movement with the woodland paths - using flagstone sourced locally - to create an intriguing nature-themed path that leads into the fields, making decision to explore or to relax easy. The end product is a beautiful enjoyable and engaging landscape. Spring and summer provide explosions of colorful plantings while the evergreen and a plethora of foliage provide a dramatic backdrop of reds and golds. Our work exceeded the clients expectations and created a pleasurable sanctuary for outdoor reflection or relaxation.
