This started with a desire to create an iconic garden that flows with the home's Southern architecture while bringing a timeless feel. To add character to the space, we built a winding path out of locally sourced natural stone that will provide visitors a way to experience a rich tapestry of native plants, ornamental grasses, and perennials. Our horticulturist selected a myriad of drought-tolerant plants that will ensure that while serene seasonal beauty will be witnessed in this garden, some plants will also remain healthy during drought conditions. As the progressed, one of our greatest challenges was the slope of the site, where grading methods would need to be used to achieve a flat base for the stunning outdoor living area. We then installed a striking pergola made of cedar that provides shade and physical structure and presents beautifully amongst the adjacent plantings. The fire pit area was intentionally designed, with adequate seating for relaxation or entertaining friends and family, to extend outdoor enjoyment into the evenings. The addition of lovely elements like the wrought iron accents, timeless brick edging, and the soft landscape lighting helped as visual enhancers, while also providing functionality and a sense of safety during evening stays. Our team met the challenge of working through some weather delays to bring the back on schedule and then spent hours completing the last few to meet our standards. The end result is an amazing landscape that ultimately enhances the curb appeal of the property and creates a retreat for the homeowner. The homeowner remarked how well our design captured the essence of Southern life while allowing them to enjoy fruit peace among family and friends.
