Profile: Husk Exterior Transformation | Nashville, TN Gardens of Babylon Landscapes is thrilled to share the remarkable transformation of the Husk family residence located in Nashville, Tennessee. This was thoughtfully designed to not only enhance the aesthetic appeal of the home, but the use of plant materials and outdoor lounge spaces also expanded outdoor functionality in a manner that perfectly integrated with the existing lush area vegetation, for clients in Antioch, Belle Meade, Brentwood, and Nashville. The transformation began with an artistic layout landscape design incorporating existing native perennial plants, dynamic color beds, and a range of hardscaping. We chose durable materials such as Tennessee flagstone and pavers to create inviting walks, a large patio, and an outdoor fire that served as a natural gathering space with boulders for seating around the fire with family and friends. Another challenge of the site was an increase in elevation, we addressed this issue with tiered planting and planted retaining walls that expanded visual building interest while keeping water away from the landscape and the foundation. We coordinated drought-tolerant plants that serve Nashville, including native shrubs and grasses requiring very low to no maintenance while providing aesthetic beauty all year round. In the end, the result was absolutely magnificent! The Husk family now has a tremendous outdoor living room space that is in reflection of their lifestyle and home value curb distinction. The integrations of soft and hardscaping complimented each other on every level leaving an inviting feeling for family, guests, and other visitors to enjoy with contact.
