Front Porches - Innovative Landscape Design MP Landscape Design was thrilled to be part of the 'Front Porches' , an exciting new landscape that altered the outdoor aesthetics of a client's residence within the lovely community of Mount Pleasant. The community spans from Awendaw, Charleston, Daniel Island, Isle of Palms, Johns Island, North Charleston, to Sullivan's Island, and we were honored to take part in designing a front porch to create a sense of welcome with a combination of beauty and function. The features a beautiful combination of natural stone pavers along with reclaimed wood for the decking to achieve a rustic, yet polished aesthetic. Native, drought-resistant plants were included not only to increase curb appeal, but to also attract beneficial insects to the local ecosystem through enhanced biodiversity. Included in the design is a beautiful trellis with climbing jasmine. The trellis is exquisite and adds an unmistakable fragrance while providing shade as the hot afternoons set in. We saw the through to successful completion, addressing site challenges of existing topography, and erosion with grading and drainage solutions where runoff would not negatively affect the existing porch structure. The landscaping techniques utilized were effective in addressing challenges while consistently elevating the aesthetic and functional capacities of the space. The finished design is a beautiful front porch inviting family and friends to sit and relax in comfort, visit family gatherings, or simply escape at the end of the day. The owner of the residence was thrilled with the results, quality of craftsmanship, and attention to detail delivered by MP Landscape Design. The design concluded both as a space to celebrate the life, and increased the value of the property while complementing the beautiful beauty of the surrounding landscape, establishing this home as a showcase within Mount Pleasant.
