The brief for this was simple: build a beautiful to look at retaining wall that can withstand the elements and help control soil erosion and landscape beautification. Based on the site evaluation it was decided on the stone type which was in a natural stone and being durable yet beautiful. The stones were handpicked to enhance the landscape and provide timeless sophistication that will match the homeowner's outdoor environment. While building, even at initial stage, our team had to finally face the difficult tasks of uneven surfaces and varying kinds of soil. But with our landscape experience and attention to detail, we integrated innovative engineering solutions that both ensured the wall would remain stable and horizontal for many years to come. Going back to the wall, we used proper drainage methods behind the wall to ensure that no water gets stuck behind the wall very important for the structural integrity! The completed retaining wall, an example of our work, is 30 feet long and 4 feet high. The natural stone provides the function you need while also acting as a beautiful and appealing focal point to the design of the property. We also added native plants with decorative gravel at the base of the wall to enhance the design with various textures and colors. The client was over the moon with the end result, saying the retaining wall eliminated the erosion problems, allowing for them to create an outdoor space where family can enjoy each others company or simply spend some time relaxing.
